Privacy Policy.

The short version

TACWAC is a note-taking app with no accounts, no ads, no tracking, and no company server. Crash-scene records live on your iPhone. You control exports, sharing, and optional sync through your own private iCloud database. Apple map and location services and subscription services handle the requests described below. TACWAC does not upload crash-scene records to HolmMade Products LLC. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do process support correspondence and subscription information as described below.

Local-first crash notes

TACWAC stores your crash-scene notes—scenes, measurements, people, vehicles, bus seating layouts and occupant rosters, seat belt and air bag inspection findings, vehicle damage sketches, property damage, evidence, roadway features, statements, investigative entries, custom section definitions and entries, Summary/Cause, recommendations, due dates, completion dates, photos, diagrams, rosters, and exported documents—on your device. HolmMade Products LLC does not operate a server that receives your crash-scene records, and we cannot access or recover them from your device or private iCloud database. If you choose to send us records in a support message, we will receive that copy; please avoid sending sensitive records.

Optional iCloud sync

If an eligible TACWAC Pro user turns on iCloud sync, supported app records are synchronized through the user's private iCloud database so they can appear on the user's devices. This synchronization is provided by Apple through CloudKit and is controlled by the user's Apple Account and iCloud settings. HolmMade Products LLC does not receive those records through a company-operated server and cannot read your private iCloud database.

Apple maps and location lookups

TACWAC uses Apple's map and location services to display maps and look up road names or cities from coordinates. These features can send map requests and coordinates to Apple. California city and county lookups use data bundled on your device; Stats may use Apple's online city lookup for coordinates outside California.

Exports and Officer Assistance

Alongside optional iCloud sync, you can choose to export or share scene information. Exports may include Word or plain-text documents, photos, a Factual Diagram in PNG, SVG, PDF, or TACWAC Pro-only DXF format, or a TACWAC package containing records you selected for another investigator. Packages can include people, vehicles and their damage sketches, bus seating layouts and occupant rosters, seat belt and air bag inspection findings, measurements, coordinates, property damage, investigative entries, custom sections and their entries, Summary/Cause, and recommendations. TACWAC Pro users can also share boilerplate packages containing reusable text, its referenced inserts and options, and associated custom section definitions.

Once information leaves the app, it is outside TACWAC's control; you are responsible for selecting an appropriate recipient and transfer method.

Notifications and Live Activities

TACWAC schedules optional daily summary notifications locally on your device. Summaries include active-crash counts and deadline information, without crash names or record details. You choose the summary days and time for this device.

Optional Live Activities show saved section progress and warning counts for an open active crash on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. With Show Crash Details turned on, the crash name, severity, and custom section titles may be visible outside TACWAC. Turning that option off hides the name and severity and uses generic labels for custom sections. You can disable Live Activities in Settings → Notifications & Live Activities. Opening a crash from a Live Activity still respects App Lock when enabled.

Photos

TACWAC re-encodes photos saved inside a crash and removes GPS, EXIF, and camera metadata. When you import a photo, Apple's system photo picker is used for the items you select, so TACWAC never has access to your whole photo library.

Permissions

• Location: centers maps, saves coordinates you request, and helps find nearby road names.
• Camera: captures crash-scene photos and scans supported driver-license barcodes.
• Photo Library: uses Apple's system picker for photos you select.
• Notifications: with your permission, iOS delivers the daily summaries you enable.
• App Lock: uses your existing iPhone passcode, with optional Face ID or Touch ID. iOS handles authentication; TACWAC never receives or stores your device passcode or biometric data.
• Motion: device-motion readings support the Angle Finder when measuring roadway slope, without a separate permission prompt.

You can review or change requested permissions in iOS Settings at any time. Declining a permission limits only the related features.

Purchases and TACWAC Pro

TACWAC Pro subscriptions are sold through Apple's App Store and managed with RevenueCat, a subscription-management service that acts as our service provider (data processor). To validate purchases, unlock TACWAC Pro features, and restore purchases across your devices, RevenueCat receives and processes on our behalf: a randomly generated app-user identifier (TACWAC does not attach your name or email to it, but it can distinguish your subscription records and is not a guarantee of anonymity); your App Store purchase receipt and transaction history; your subscription status; the approximate time the app was last used; and basic technical information such as device type and iOS version. RevenueCat is initialized when the app starts, so subscription-service requests can occur even before you buy TACWAC Pro. We can access subscription records through RevenueCat to manage entitlements and support purchase issues. Apple handles your payment details; TACWAC does not receive your payment-card number. This information is used to provide and support the subscription service. It is never sold or used for advertising, and TACWAC does not send crash-scene records, names, or anything you create in the app to RevenueCat. You can read RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for how they handle this data, and you may contact us at the address below to request deletion of purchase data held with RevenueCat.

What TACWAC does not do

• No user accounts, sign-ins, or profiles.
• No advertising, advertising identifiers, or third-party behavioral analytics; subscription processing is described above.
• No sale of personal information or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• No company server that stores or receives crash-scene records.
• No artificial intelligence or language models writing your work; the app organizes what you enter using deterministic app logic.
• No report writing or records management: TACWAC is a note-taking app. It does not produce, file, or submit official crash reports and does not replace dedicated agency software, policies, or procedures.

Legal requests

HolmMade Products LLC cannot retrieve crash-scene records from your device or private iCloud database in response to a legal demand. We may disclose information we actually hold, such as support correspondence or subscription records, when required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or legal claims. Apple handles requests for data it holds under its own legal process.

Information about other people

Crash documentation naturally contains information about other people—drivers, passengers, witnesses. That information is collected by you, stored on your device, and controlled by you. You are responsible for having the authority to collect and handle it and for complying with the laws and policies that apply to your work. TACWAC does not send it to HolmMade Products LLC. Requests about an investigator's records should be directed to the investigator or responsible agency; we cannot alter those records.

Your rights

Because your crash-scene data is stored on your device and in your own iCloud account rather than with us, you exercise access, correction, and deletion directly in the app: you manage records directly in the app, subject to feature availability. Custom Sections and their content remain stored but hidden while TACWAC Pro is inactive. Deleting the app removes its local data. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information we hold, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to your local privacy regulator. Contact us using the details below. We may need limited information to verify your request and will respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights. This includes support correspondence and subscription data processed on our behalf. We may ask for a transaction reference to locate subscription records; never send your Apple Account password. California residents: we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

Support and processing

If you contact us, we receive your email address and the message or attachments you send. Google (Gmail) processes our support email under Google's Privacy Policy. We use this information to respond and resolve the issue, not to add you to a marketing list. Please redact names, driver-license details, photos, and other sensitive case information before sending a support request.

HolmMade Products LLC is based in California, and support and subscription providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Where a legal basis is required, we process subscription information to provide the service you request, support correspondence for our legitimate interest in answering and resolving requests, and records needed to comply with legal obligations. Device permissions are controlled separately through iOS.

For Apple services, including iCloud, maps, and App Store purchases, see Apple's Privacy Policy. No storage or transfer method is completely secure. Protect your device and Apple Account, and follow your agency's rules when enabling sync or choosing where to export records.

Children

TACWAC is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children using the app. Investigators may record information about minors involved in a crash; that information is handled as described under Information about other people.

Retention and deletion

Locally stored data remains until you delete it or remove the app. Settings → Manage Data lets you permanently clear selected categories or erase saved app data and restore built-in defaults. These cleanup actions cannot be undone. Data synchronized through iCloud is also subject to your iCloud settings and Apple's storage behavior; deletions may synchronize to your other devices when sync is enabled. Cleanup does not remove copies you have already exported or shared. Removing the app does not by itself delete iCloud copies, device backups, or subscription records, and it does not cancel a subscription. Manage those separately through the relevant Apple settings. We retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to answer your request, resolve follow-up issues or disputes, and meet legal obligations. Hosting or subscription records processed by service providers follow the applicable service settings, contractual requirements, and legal retention obligations; deletion may not immediately remove backup copies or records required by law.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as TACWAC develops or legal requirements change. We will post revisions here and update the effective date. For material changes, we will provide a prominent notice on the website and any additional notice or consent required by applicable law.
